About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled PhD Chemist to join our team at Mansell Recruitment Group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and refine existing products to improve manufacturing efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Design and create new products, including samples for clients and certification purposes.
  • Write and implement new working instructions for new products, and train staff on their use.
  • Update existing working instructions to our new format.
  • Conduct risk assessments for various processes and review and assess processes with the Operations Manager and Health and Safety Manager for safety and efficiency.
  • Test products on machines for friction, ESD, and impact sensitivity.
  • Audit chemical and explosives stores on site.
  • Burn waste products in a safe environment following our waste protocol.

Requirements:

  • PhD in Chemistry.
  • At least one year's experience in a commercial environment.
  • Team lead experience or experience leading a team is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills to communicate with colleagues at all levels.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and fix production issues.
  • Experience writing documentation and working instructions for new products.
