Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced Lymphoedema Specialist Practitioner to join our team as a Clinical Lead. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a caseload of patients with lymphoedema, providing expert clinical care and leading a team of healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of patients with lymphoedema, providing expert clinical care and developing treatment plans to meet individual patient needs.
  • Lead a team of healthcare professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality patient care and effective service delivery.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with best practice guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and stakeholders to ensure seamless service delivery and effective communication.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of service improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and service delivery.
Requirements
  • Qualified RGN with current registration with NMC.
  • Nursing Diploma or BSc (Hons) Community Health (DN).
  • Relevant post-registration study at diploma/degree level and relevant CPD, e.g. Lymphoedema management, Manual Lymphatic drainage, massage therapies.
  • Physical Assessment Skills.
  • Nurse Prescriber V100 or V150.
  • Mentorship Preceptorship or equivalent.
Desirable Criteria
  • Understanding of current legislation and its implications for this role, including performance indicators and targets.
  • Understanding of both the Health and Social Care agenda.
Skills and Personal Attributes
  • Holistic assessment, core clinical and clinical reasoning skills to proactively manage patient care.
  • Effective leadership skills and ability to delegate tasks to appropriately trained staff.
  • Ability to lead by example, both clinically and managerially, being consistent and fair to all staff in every aspect of work.

  • Effective communication skills with clients and colleagues and the ability to establish rapport with team, clients, and other agencies.

  • Able to produce well-written and timely clinical records and service reports.
  • Ability to lead and participate in service and organisational change.
  • Ability to work under pressure, balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to travel to multiple sites; car driver or can cycle to work.
