Job Title: Van Delivery Driver

Manpower UK Ltd is seeking a reliable and skilled Van Delivery Driver to join our team. As a Van Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for transporting new cooking oil and exchanging empty containers with our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver fresh oil to the catering and restaurant trade
  • Collect used cooking oil
  • Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in proper working order and complies with safety regulations
  • Regularly maintain the vehicle to ensure it remains in proper working order and report any mechanical issues to the appropriate personnel
  • Drive the vehicle in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to traffic laws and complying with all safety regulations and procedures while operating the vehicle
  • Safely load and unload cargo and ensure it is secured according to safety regulations
  • Make and take payment for oil and maintain the accuracy of cash and prepaid cards
  • Communicate with dispatch and customers to provide updates on delivery times and any issues that arise during transport
  • Accurately record information following oil delivery and/or collection, including completion of Waste Transfer Notes
  • Report missed or failed deliveries on a daily basis to the Microsite Manager
  • Build and maintain good relationships with customers and prospective customers, assisting with sales efforts when required
Requirements:
  • A valid driving license and a clean driving record
  • Experience driving a van in the UK with exceptional knowledge of UK roadways, laws, and regulations (minimum 6 months)
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with the Transport Office, customers, and other drivers on the road
  • Professional demeanor, appearance, and conduct
  • Strong customer service orientation and a willingness to engage with customers positively
  • Awareness of safety regulations relating to driving a vehicle and health and safety in the workplace
  • Ability to problem-solve and demonstrate examples of handling unexpected situations
  • A high level of attention to detail due to the nature of checking documents
  • A strong work ethic, reliability, and flexibility in your schedule, as the job may require working long hours, nights, weekends, and holidays
