We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Officer to join our team at the Office for Environmental Protection. As a key member of our finance function, you will be responsible for providing financial support and guidance to our teams across the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the finance mailbox, ensuring all queries and questions are answered accurately and dealt with in a timely manner.
- Raise purchase orders in our finance system (Sage) in accordance with OEP finance policies.
- Invoice management, including liaison with suppliers, resolving invoice payment queries, and preparing weekly payment runs.
- Manage supplier statements and reconciliation, liaising with suppliers when necessary to resolve issues.
- Communicate with internal teams and external stakeholders, building and maintaining good working relationships for the Finance team.
- Assist the Management Accountant in preparing monthly bank reconciliations and other balance sheet reconciliations.
- Monitor staff expenses and ensure they are in line with OEP Finance policies and procedures.
- Previous experience of accounts payable and knowledge of accounts payable processes.
- Good attention to detail and ability to work at pace, prioritizing and organizing effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate well across the organization.
- Proven ability to take the initiative, work independently, and be delivery-focused.

- Salary: £31,863.
- Civil Service Pension with an employer contribution of 28.97%.
