Job Summary:

Oaklands College is seeking a dedicated and supportive Learning Support Assistant to join our Additional Learning Support Team. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing academic support to students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities within our Mainstream provision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide consistent academic support to individuals or groups of students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.
  • Support learners academically inside and outside the classroom, assisting tutors to meet the diverse needs of learners.
  • Communicate effectively with Curriculum areas and work collaboratively with tutors to ensure student needs and college objectives are met.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualized learning plans to support students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.
  • Contribute to the creation of a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement and motivation.

Requirements:

  • 2 years of general work experience working with students in school, adult education, or voluntary/charitable organizations.
  • Good standard of education, with 5 GCSEs grade C or above, or equivalent qualification, or extensive experience.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
  • Accurate record-keeping skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of Education, Health, and Care Plans is desirable.
