The Information Security Engineer will be instrumental in protecting our technological infrastructure by establishing, managing, and refining security protocols and monitoring systems. This role requires active collaboration with development and operations teams to secure both production and corporate environments. The engineer will also handle threat and vulnerability assessments and collaborate with technical teams on remediation efforts. This position is ideal for someone with a passion for cybersecurity who wants to make a meaningful impact in a vibrant and expanding organization.
Key Responsibilities
1. Enhance Security Monitoring Tools: Optimize and advance our security monitoring solutions to deliver critical insights to the organization.
2. Automate Security Processes: Streamline the auditing and monitoring of technical systems to reduce manual intervention within the security framework.
3. Collaborate with Technical Teams: Work closely with CloudOps, Development, and IT Support teams to address findings and drive resolutions as guided by the Cyber Security leadership.
4. Support Training Initiatives: Assist in training programs aimed at improving cybersecurity awareness across the organization.
5. Compliance Assistance: Help with the administrative tasks related to current and upcoming compliance requirements.
6. Conduct Security Audits: Aid the Cyber Security leadership in performing audits of Ideagen's systems, processes, and third-party relationships.
7. Integration of Acquisitions: Take a proactive role in incorporating newly acquired entities into Ideagen's security protocols.
Required Skills and Experience
- Excellent communication abilities
- Willingness to undergo a comprehensive background check
- Experience in Vulnerability Management, including configuring, executing, and interpreting scans (Nessus preferred)
- Familiarity with Web Vulnerability Management (OWASP Top 10, CWE Top 25)
- Proficiency in SIEM configuration, analysis, and reporting
- Knowledge of IPS/IDS and Data Loss Prevention tools, including configuration and analysis
- Experience in threat analysis and reporting
Preferred Qualifications:
- Recognized security certifications such as CEH, CISM, SANS (GSEC, GCIA, GCED, GCIH), CISSP
- Understanding of compliance standards like FedRAMP, ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials, and/or PCI compliance
- Familiarity with DevOps/Agile methodologies
- Experience in Incident Response/Forensics, including evidence preservation
- Skills in integrating security validations into CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of Amazon AWS
- AWS Certified Security - Specialty
- Experience in data analytics and reporting
- Background in Penetration Testing
- Familiarity with Jira
