As a key member of our team, you'll play a crucial role in shaping the future of rail travel by delivering technical leadership and expertise for the delivery of all Network Rail telecoms services.

About the Role

As a Telecoms Network Architect, you'll be responsible for providing technical consultancy and direction to Network Rail, delivery Supply Chain, Telecoms, Signalling, Power networks, and platforms. Your expertise will help drive the Network roadmap, ensuring seamless integration of IP networks, and delivering design in accordance with the Network Architecture.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Identify and innovate opportunities for Network Rail's telecoms services, collaborating with strategy, architecture, product, and service departments.
  2. Develop and maintain the principles and processes around IP network topology configuration, acceptance, and operations.
  3. Provide tier 4 support for complex network faults and conduct laboratory testing for new and existing solutions.
  4. Monitor capacity trending and plan IP network upgrades to ensure optimal performance.
  5. Offer technical design consultancy to NRT projects and customers as required.
  6. Identify network infrastructure opportunities for technical improvements that add value to the business.
  7. Anticipate and address internal and external business challenges, recommending new technical requirements or improvements.
  8. Develop and maintain high-level and low-level design standards and templates.
  9. Act as the CRE for design for specific NR Projects.
