Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical/Counselling Neuropsychologist to join our team at Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and delivering psychological interventions for individuals with acquired and neurodegenerative brain injuries, including functional neurological disorder (FND).

Main Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive neuropsychological assessments and provide evidence-based interventions for individuals with brain injuries and their families.
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) and provide case discussion and care planning with a focus on sharing biopsychosocial formulations and evidence-based interventions.
  • Develop and implement audit, research, and service development initiatives to improve patient outcomes.
  • Provide formal and ad-hoc supervision to other staff, including trainees, and offer teaching and learning opportunities.
  • Lead the development of a culture of support and collaboration within the service and with partner agencies.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will possess a BSc/BA Honours degree in Psychology and a postgraduate Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology, as accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS). They will also have a minimum of 4 years of experience working as a qualified Clinical Psychologist within the specified service area and experience of leading in relation to the development and organisation of psychological interventions within a given clinical area.

The successful candidate will be eligible for registration as a Chartered Clinical or Counselling Psychologist by the BPS and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Clinical Psychologist.
