We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Sonographer to join our team at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW). As a key member of our Fetal Medicine team, you will play a vital role in providing expert ultrasound services to women and infants across the South West region.
Key Responsibilities- Provide professional obstetric ultrasound expertise to support the development of safe, effective, and high-quality care for women and infants.
- Network with Fetal Medicine services across the region to ensure seamless care pathways and access to specialist services.
- Collaborate with clinical leads, midwives, and other stakeholders to design and implement initiatives to improve maternity services.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare providers, commissioners, and patient organizations.
- Support the work of the Lead Midwife and champion the patient's voice in clinical network activities.
- Significant post-qualification experience at Band 7 or above in a relevant field.
- Experience of managing and mentoring staff, with a proven track record of leadership and team development.
- Up-to-date skills and clinical competence in current role, with a strong understanding of key national issues and agendas in obstetric ultrasound.
- Sound knowledge of guideline and policy writing, with experience of developing and implementing service developments.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and diplomatically.
- Self-motivated and able to set priorities and meet deadlines, with a positive and proactive approach to problem-solving.
