Southern Water is seeking a skilled Planning and Scheduling Manager to lead a team of professionals in driving operational excellence across our water network and operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead & Motivate: Manage a team of planners and schedulers, ensuring they receive appraisals, performance management, and tailored training.
  • Capacity Planning: Oversee forecasting, capacity planning, and provide support in cross-functional discussions.
  • Drive Performance: Analyse performance against service standards, conducting root cause analysis to improve team efficiency.
  • Resource Coordination: Optimise resource allocation across Southern Water, ensuring smooth material and equipment movement.
  • Incident Response: Play a critical role in Southern Water's operational incident response rota.
  • Reporting & KPIs: Present weekly and monthly reports highlighting service delivery standards and improvement areas.

Skills & Competencies Needed:

  • Excellent geographical knowledge of Southern and South East UK (Hampshire, Sussex, Kent)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-centric mindset
  • Excellent stakeholder and people management abilities
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Technical: Programme management, leadership of large teams, change management, and continuous improvement
  • Risk & Compliance: Familiarity with Southern Water compliance standards
  • Qualifications: Essential: Experience in back-office operations management and operational performance improvement Desirable: PRINCE2 certification or equivalent

This role will be full-time Monday to Friday 37 hours a week. Southern Water operates a hybrid approach to working between our Durrington office and home.
