Job Summary:
Carrington West is seeking an experienced Principal Highway Engineer to join our team in the Manchester area. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of major highway projects and developing new schemes within our client's funded programme.
Main Responsibilities:
- Project Development: Develop programmes to take schemes through the feasibility process, taking into account constraints on the approval and delivery process.
- Team Management: Manage project teams to complete scheme consultations in collaboration with all relevant stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Liaise with the Development Management Service to ensure Planning related Highway schemes meet with feasibility requirements, avoid conflicts with other schemes, and where possible complement other schemes under development.
- Budget Management: Support effective budget management in all stages of the delivery process and support the implementation, monitoring, and reporting of robust performance measures.
- Quality Assurance: Commission and respond to Road Safety Audits, including preparation of briefs and Designers responses.
- Professional Development: Demonstrate a willingness to work to the Council's stated values and behaviours, and to support the development of junior staff working on the project teams.
- Qualifications: Hold a degree/HNC/HND qualification in Civil Engineering or other relevant field with evidence of continuing professional development.
