Role Overview:
As a Joiner Technician, you will be responsible for servicing clients throughout the Scottish Central Belt using a company vehicle. A valid UK driving license is required, and occasional travel beyond the local area may be necessary based on workload.
Key Responsibilities:
- Replace timber flooring, including splicing timber floor joists to preservation standards, and renewing door frames, architraves, and window sills.
- Perform splicing of roof timbers and specialized timber resin repairs.
- Remove ceiling and wall plaster, replace timber wall framing and partitions, install damp proof courses, and apply membranes according to industry standards.
- Renew timber lintels and perform associated brickwork.
- Conduct timber treatments, including insecticide and fungicide applications, as well as remedial repairs for dry and wet rot, which involve timber renewal and chemical treatments.
- Implement specialized condensation treatments, which may include loft insulation, painting internal and external walls with specialized coatings, and installing thermal wall products.
- Engage in patch plastering as required.
- Execute basement waterproofing tasks and address structural defects, such as wall tie installations and crack stitching.
Qualifications:
We are looking for candidates who possess:
- Experience in preservation joinery.
- An apprenticeship background, along with City and Guilds or NVQ qualifications.
- Prior experience as a Joiner, Carpenter, or Preservation Technician.
- A full UK Manual Driving License for at least two years, with no more than six penalty points.
- A proactive attitude and the ability to use initiative in challenging situations.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a friendly and enthusiastic demeanor.
