We are seeking an experienced Team Leader to join our Engineering Operations team. As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient running of the engineering team, facilitating a high-quality customer experience, and leading by example in terms of leadership, engagement, and motivation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Health and Safety: Take the lead in all aspects of Health and Safety, ensuring H&S initiatives and requirements are acted upon and communicated to the relevant forum or individuals, safety audits, site risk assessments, and associated training.
- Near Miss and Job Safety Observation Lead Indicator Reporting: Lead the investigation and reporting of near misses and job safety observations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Engineer Performance Management: Manage engineer performance, including dialogues, engineer engagement, retention, coaching, and development, including training needs identification.
- First-Level Technical Escalation: Provide technical support and guidance to engineers, escalating complex issues to senior management as needed.
- Engineering Coverage: Manage engineering coverage, including absence management, authorization of holidays, and ensuring adequate staffing levels.
- Team Meetings: Lead team meetings, communicating business objectives and performance against goals and targets.
- Service Audits: Conduct service audits to ensure high-quality customer service and identify areas for improvement.
- WIP Management: Manage work-in-progress, ensuring job and service completion to promise, and maintaining accurate documentation.
- 5S Standards: Ensure 5S standards are maintained, conducting audits and implementing corrective actions as needed.
Requirements:
- Man Management Skills: Demonstrate good levels of man management skills, having demonstrated an ability to work in a team and a desire to promote quality customer service.
- Communication Skills: Display good standard of communication skills, showing confidence in developing the potential of staff.
- Customer-Facing Skills: Be comfortable in customer-facing situations, providing excellent customer service.
- Numeracy and Literacy: Possess good levels of numeracy and literacy.
- Team Management: Manage a team of 10-20 engineers, subject to location.
- Industry Knowledge: Have industry knowledge and experience, with a qualified maintenance engineer (NVQ level 3/equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
- IT Systems: Have good knowledge of company IT systems, with the ability to provide first-level support.
- Conflict Management: Demonstrate successful conflict management skills.
- Thorough Examination: Be qualified to conduct thorough examinations.
