Private Client Tax Manager

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of personal tax clients, including non-doms, HNWIs, sole-traders, partnerships, and offshore trusts.
Your primary focus will be on delivering high-quality advisory work, including the preparation of reports on matters such as IHT planning, residence, pre-arrival planning, offshore structures, and planning work in anticipation of new rules for non-doms.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage a mixed portfolio of personal tax clients, including non-doms, HNWIs, sole-traders, partnerships, and offshore trusts.
* Assist partners on the delivery of advisory work, including the preparation of reports on IHT planning, residence, pre-arrival planning, offshore structures, and planning work in anticipation of new rules for non-doms.
* Prepare and attend client meetings, set budgets for follow-up work, and ensure timely completion within budget.
* Liaise with clients on routine and ad-hoc assignments, including correspondence by email, telephone, and face-to-face meetings.
* Correspond with HMRC in relation to s9A enquiries and prepare disclosures under the digital disclosure facility.
* Oversee the collation of information needed to prepare tax returns, liaising with third-party professionals and clients.
* Deal with all aspects of income tax, including National Insurance, and capital gains tax, reviewing PAYE coding notices where appropriate.
* Review tax returns prepared by other staff members for approval by the client and electronic filing.
* Promptly deal with routine post received in connection with clients.
* Prioritize and organize work to ensure consistently high standards of client care and meet HMRC deadlines, working without supervision and showing initiative in dealing with clients' affairs.
* Bill clients on a quarterly basis, including making reserves and keeping partners updated on billing concerns.
Requirements:
* CTA Qualified is an essential requirement.
* Minimum 5 years Private Client Tax experience.
* Experience and up-to-date knowledge of non-doms and offshore structures.
* Client-facing experience, including comfort speaking to and meeting with clients regularly.
* Working knowledge of CCH packages and good organizational skills.
* Great communication skills and ability to work well on own initiative as well as part of a team.
