Assistant Development Manager

Deverell Smith Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Assistant Development Manager to join their team in North-West London. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work directly with the Managing Director on cradle to grave developments, from acquisition through to planning, design, construction and completion on projects across Central London, Greater London and the Home Counties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct development appraisals to identify potential projects and opportunities
  • Source and acquire land for development, ensuring compliance with planning regulations and other relevant laws
  • Work with architects, consultants and other stakeholders to develop design concepts and plans for new developments
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to sell properties and attract new customers
  • Manage building regulations, CDM and planning applications to ensure compliance and timely completion
  • Assist with the oversight of development budgets and cash flow forecasts to ensure financial stability
  • Monitor and assess the performance of current portfolio to ensure profitability and value
  • Ensure all compliance, safety and risk management standards are met, and conduct regular site visits to monitor progress
  • Work closely with the entire development team, including architects, consultants, general managers and construction teams
  • Reinforce delivery of brand standards, including FFE and compliance
  • Supervise and liaise with external planning consultants on all submissions for projects and discharge of conditions, Section 106 and appeals if needed
Requirements:
  • Qualification in Real Estate, Land Economy, Construction Management or related property subject
  • 2-4 years experience within a consultancy or client-side development organisation
  • Personal commitment to strong customer service and high-quality delivery
  • Strong IT skills
  • Able and willing to travel
