We are seeking a highly skilled Field Unit Engineer to join our team at SSE plc, a leading energy company powering communities across the UK. As a Field Unit Engineer, you will play a critical role in the delivery of construction requirements for our owned assets and associated infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the delivery of capital works construction projects, fluid-filled cable faults, asset portfolio plan, and connections as directed by Project Managers.
  • Oversee the management of substation and cabling projects, provide SAP resource and PM duties for internal delivery projects as required.
  • Work with Project Managers and Design Engineers to ensure safe and efficient delivery of SSEN's capital portfolio externally and internally resourced.
  • Undertake SAP duties for internal delivery projects as agreed.
  • Populate and amend white books as required for both faults/projects and update Maximo via MAD forms commensurate with job.
  • Support regions in fault scenarios as requested by Works Delivery manager/depot kV SAP authorisation including full Sanction For Test (SFT).
Requirements
  • Proven experience in testing and witnessing commissioning of HV/EHV distribution systems.
  • Ability to carry out fault investigation, locations, and repairs on EHV fluid-filled cable systems.
  • Undertake project management duties on small scale internal delivery projects as agreed.
  • Hold a current driving licence.
