Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Architect to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing detailed network designs for converged building networks, both as part of larger projects and as standalone initiatives. This will involve collaborating with third-party stakeholders to define IP and VLAN schedules, ensuring seamless integration with existing networks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop low-level network designs for construction projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including main contractors, sub-contractors, design teams, and clients, to ensure effective design implementation.
  • Produce high-quality engineering documentation, including IP schedules, rack elevations, and patching schedules, to support network design and implementation.
  • Develop expertise in Cisco networking technologies, including Cisco Meraki, and stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements.
  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to engineer solutions that meet budgetary requirements and identify potential commercial and technical risks.
  • Configure and set up switches, ensuring optimal network performance and security.
  • Communicate complex design concepts effectively to design and client teams, justifying design decisions and ensuring alignment with project objectives.
  • Maintain relevant technical accreditations and qualifications, staying current with industry standards and best practices.
  • Develop a working knowledge of common network manufacturers, including Cisco, HP, and others.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Understanding of cloud-based IoT technologies and their applications in building management systems.
  • Experience in advising third-party stakeholders on network security and configuration best practices.
  • Knowledge of common building and IoT protocols, including Modbus, BACnet, and MQTT.
