Job Title: Laser DEW Effects Tools and Simulation Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Laser DEW Effects Tools and Simulation Engineer to join our team at MBDA UK Ltd. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and augmenting toolsets and simulations for immediate and applied use on the Dragonfire MDC programme.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain complex simulations written in Simulink or similar environments
  • Design and implement toolsets using MATLAB or similar toolsets
  • Represent nuanced system behaviour, including embedded code, firmware, and processes within time-based simulation methods
  • Build semi-empirical toolsets using test and experimental data and (sometimes emergent) theory
  • Simplify and codify complex system interactions
  • Manage and deliver a network of interconnected product releases
  • Lead a small team to deliver tasks and work packages
Requirements:
  • Experience in developing tools, simulations, or algorithms in MATLAB or similar toolsets
  • Proven track record in delivering, or, proving and testing complex simulations written in Simulink or similar environments
  • Understanding of Object-Oriented MATLAB or similar toolset
  • Ability to manage budgets within a team environment
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Proven track record in delivering on time, cost, and quality
  • Appreciation of 'trading requirements'
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience with Ansys Fluent, COMSOL, or similar Multiphysics tools
  • Complex system design in a deeply technical environment
