About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Design Structural Engineer to join our UK Healthcare Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the growth of our UK Healthcare business, working on projects in London and South East England, and collaborating with our global team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with our team of Structural Engineers, MEP, civils, and geo-tech engineers to deliver high-quality structural engineering designs.
  • Raise the profile and reputation of our UK Healthcare Team through innovative design solutions and excellent communication skills.
  • Develop and oversee structural engineering concepts and design philosophies, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and sustainability.
  • Carry out structural design, analysis, and FEM modeling, using industry-standard software such as Revit.
  • Liaise with clients and collaborators, representing Ramboll at project meetings and communicating designs to team members and construction sites.
  • Complete detailed designs to required standards and supervise the work of graduate engineers and apprentices.
  • Implement best practice procedures to enhance and maintain delivery of sustainable, zero-carbon, innovative, and quality advisory and design services.
  • Visit sites to support the development of structural engineering designs or review contract works in progress.
  • Take an active role in technical groups and team meetings to support continuous improvement and take ownership of team improvement initiatives.
  • Join Ramboll's ICE or IStructE training scheme and make demonstrable progress towards chartership (if not already chartered).
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Design Structural Engineer with a strong background in the UK Healthcare sector. You will have a degree in a relevant engineering discipline, achieved Chartered Engineer status, and experience in designing reinforced concrete, steel, and/or timber structures. You will also have experience of digital and parametric design, knowledge of assessment, retrofit, and alteration of existing structures, and knowledge of construction supervision, building investigation, and structural testing.

You will be an excellent communicator, able to explain complex technical concepts in plain language, verbally and in writing. You will also be able to demonstrate good attention to detail and pride in work produced, and be able to motivate and inspire confidence both internally and externally across geographical borders.
