Job Title: Digital Engineering Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Digital Engineering Leader to join our team at Pilgrims Europe. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing a hands-on approach to planned and unplanned maintenance activities, ensuring the engineering team works safely at all times.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of site engineering systems, processes, and procedures, as well as transferable management skills. They will be able to drive KPI improvement under the five manufacturing pillars and effectively use resources available, including people, utilities, and materials.

The Digital Engineering Leader will be responsible for coaching, training, and giving advice to engineering colleagues to achieve continual improvements in training and knowledge of the engineering team. They will also act with integrity at all times to build a culture of a professional engineering team with proactive equipment-focussed continuous improvement skills.

The successful candidate will be able to use and understand management operating systems and IT-based packages, anticipate/identify problems, and provide effective solutions. They will also be able to act on decisions with the corresponding level of urgency.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure the management operating systems for the area are accurately managed, maintained, and developed to enable responsive fact-based management of the operation.
  2. Ensure that all aspects of area operation are adequately resourced and scheduled with the correct skill levels to deliver output and quality objectives, and to provide legal compliance.
  3. Create and sustain a highly-motivated team with a developing set of skills for continuous improvement of team performance.
  4. Personally set the standard for the team and monitor performance.
  5. Ensure clarity of role for team members to include assigning tasks, coaching, following up, and giving feedback to individuals.
  6. Support improvement projects.
  7. Coordinate exceptional activity such as product trials, project work, changes to standard working patterns, etc.
  8. Conduct data analysis and be able to plot trends and spot opportunities.
  9. Act as deputy to the Retail Engineer Manager.
  10. Oversee and monitor the performance of external contractors who work on the site.
