Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Design Manager to join our team at Kingston Barnes Ltd. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for leading the development of technically sound and commercially viable design packages for standard applications.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement design strategies to meet customer needs and company objectives.
  2. Lead a team of electrical and mechanical design engineers to ensure high-quality designs that meet customer expectations and company standards.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide integrated solutions and promote a team-based mentality.
  4. Develop and maintain standard design packages and technical documentation for products.
  5. Oversee control panel design and optimize the use of design resources.
  6. Monitor design output and assembly costs, and implement improvements as needed.
  7. Recruit temporary staff or outsource activities to ensure project deadlines are met.
  8. Evaluate training needs of employees and provide guidance on professional development.

Requirements

  1. You will hold an HNC/HND or higher in an engineering discipline and have a management position in the relevant field.
  2. Be competent in reading and reviewing engineering drawings and technical specifications, and have working knowledge of CAD.
  3. You will have experience in both design and fabrication of machinery/equipment.
  4. You hold a clean UK driving license.
