Manufacturing Engineer Opportunity

Terumo BCT, a global leader in blood management and pharmaceutical solutions, is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Larne. As a key player in the production of integral parenteral pharmaceutical solutions, we are looking for a technical expert to design, develop, and implement manufacturing systems, complex manufacturing operations, and sophisticated machines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise to design, develop, and implement manufacturing systems, complex manufacturing operations, and sophisticated machines.
  • Function as a specialist in a specific technical phase of the planning function, including planning, tooling, maintenance, plant engineering, releasing, machine shop, and assembly.
  • Develop, analyze, and manage Manufacturing/Assembly Projects, including training new processors and developing training programs for Process Operators.
  • Engage in creative problem-solving to address operational issues, including ergonomic/safety, efficiency improvements, process bottlenecks, and quality concerns.
  • Work with internal and external suppliers to develop and manage projects to ensure efficient and cost-effective systems and processes to produce quality products.
  • Design, develop, and implement the integration of manufacturing systems, including factory control software, scheduling techniques, simulation, and systems application.
  • Coordinate, plan, monitor, and report the activities associated with the flow analysis, design, financial modeling, and implementation of complex manufacturing group technology cells in an assigned area.
  • Provide manufacturing technical support in process control and internal certification.
  • Coordinate the corporate manufacturing and office space utilization and assist in the preparation of business proposals for rearrangements or additions or complete new facilities to ensure proper utilization of space.
  • Coordinate the purchase and application of machine tools, controls, and related equipment corporate-wide to ensure the latest technology is being used to increase efficiencies and economy of operations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline or equivalent education and experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of manufacturing concepts, heat treat operations, etc., gained through acquisition of an appropriate technical or university degree combined with a minimum of 2 years of appropriate manufacturing experience or a minimum of 2 years as a Manufacturing Engineer 2, or appropriate equivalent experience.
  • Project-management skills.
  • Knowledge/Training in continuous improvement concepts.
