BSL Communication Support Worker

Croydon College is seeking a highly skilled BSL Communication Support Worker to join its Additional Learning Support (ALS) team. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that hearing-impaired learners receive the support they need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver support to hearing-impaired learners with or without an Education, Health & Care Plan (EHCP) or SEN Support Plan.
- Provide 1:1 and group interventions, as well as therapeutic sessions, to maximize student independence and meet EHCP outcomes.
- Work closely with the ALS Manager to create an inclusive and collaborative approach to coordinating support for hearing-impaired students.
- Liaise with parents/carers and college staff to provide advice and guidance, implement PEEPs and risk assessments, and provide support in unstructured times.
- Level 3 qualification in a relevant field.
- Level 2 English and Maths.
- Level 3 BSL qualification (Signature / CACDP).
- Practical experience of using BSL or SSE.
- Comprehensive understanding of the SEND Code of Practice.
