Job Overview

We are seeking to recruit an Environmental Services Associate to deliver essential non-clinical support to our unit team, executing tasks as directed by the Radiology Lead Nurse and Lead Superintendent Radiographer.

Candidates should possess GCSE qualifications in English and Maths (or equivalent) and have prior experience in a customer-facing role.

The primary focus of this position is to help maintain a safe and hygienic working environment for both patients and staff, ensuring that supplies and materials are adequately stocked within the department. Proficiency in IT, particularly with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Outlook, and Excel, is crucial.

The successful candidate will participate in necessary meetings, providing relevant feedback, taking action within their responsibilities, and collaborating with senior staff to facilitate effective delegation. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain medical and surgical supplies, dry goods, and other materials to specified levels.
  • Unpack stock deliveries and organize items in the appropriate storage areas.
  • Ensure all equipment and supplies are within their 'use by' dates and utilized in the correct order.
  • Keep a record of Radiology stock orders and manage the tracing/returning of loaned items.
  • Ensure cleanliness and proper storage of all equipment and furnishings, maintaining them in good condition.
  • Support Radiology staff in upholding a clean environment, especially during acute situations in the absence of a Cleanliness Technician.
  • Maintain linen supplies, ensuring they are tidy, available, and ready for use.
  • Ensure kitchen areas within the department are kept clean, organized, and stocked, with daily monitoring of fridge temperatures.
  • Create clear, concise laminated information to ensure the department remains organized and tidy.
  • When necessary, assist with non-clinical duties related to patient needs.
