Job Description

Job Title: Senior Scholar in Hebrew and Semitic Studies

Job Summary:

The University of Cambridge invites applications for a prestigious Regius Professorship of Hebrew. We seek a senior scholar with an established track record of research and leadership in Hebrew and Semitic Studies to join our faculty.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and publish original research in Hebrew and Semitic Studies
  • Capture grants to support research initiatives
  • Mentor post-doctoral researchers and instruct undergraduate and postgraduate students
  • Play a leadership role in the Department's Hebrew and Semitic Studies team
  • Fill administrative duties and faculty roles in the Faculty and accept appointment to University Committees

Requirements:

  • Outstanding research record of international stature in Hebrew and Semitic Studies
  • Vision and experience to maintain the reputation of the University as an international centre of excellence in Hebrew and Semitic Studies
