MAN Commercial Protection is pleased to announce an opening for a skilled Payroll Manager to become a vital part of our welcoming Head Office team.

Work Schedule: 25 hours per week, with a flexible arrangement of 5 hours daily from Monday to Friday. Hybrid working options are available.

Compensation: £35,000 pro rata

Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the precise, prompt, and effective management of payroll information.

Collaborating closely with our Payroll Controller, you will oversee the meticulous processing and verification of our substantial monthly payroll, while also introducing enhancements to optimize departmental and organizational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the processing of multiple monthly payrolls for approximately 1500 employees, including handling starters, leavers, amendments, absences, overtime, statutory payments, and pension contributions.
  • Address payroll discrepancies and inquiries, resolving issues or escalating them as necessary.
  • Assist with the monthly financial accounting obligations of the organization, including generating reports, preparing weekly/monthly payroll journals, and performing reconciliations.
  • Oversee the administration of the Company Pension Schemes, with essential experience in NEST.
  • Facilitate the processing of monthly and ad hoc payroll-related payments.
  • Manage the recovery of monthly adjustments and deductions.
  • Handle company car processing/P11D's and associated inquiries.
  • Complete all company and year-end payroll tasks.
  • Support various Payroll/HR initiatives as needed.
  • Update payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department transfers.
  • Prepare reports summarizing earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and non-taxable wages.
  • Conduct gender pay gap reporting.
  • Manage sickness processes and all related payments.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Extensive experience with Sage Payroll 50 and a thorough understanding of pension schemes and auto-enrolment, with NEST experience being advantageous.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and familiarity with all MS Office applications.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • The capability to work independently and under pressure.
  • A proven track record of meeting monthly payroll deadlines.
  • The comfort to collaborate closely with the Senior Management Team.
