About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Virgin Atlantic as a Technical Delivery Lead - Manager, where you will play a key role in ensuring the seamless delivery of technical projects and programmes. As a seasoned professional with a strong technical background, you will provide comprehensive technical support and oversight to project managers and business analysts, contributing significantly to the success of the Enterprise Transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough technical reviews from a delivery and supportability remit to identify potential issues/risks and proactively mitigate them.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to project managers and business analysts across all projects and programmes, ensuring seamless transition into operational and reacceptance.
  • Contribute technical recommendations to projects and programmes, and support the Senior Manager Technical Delivery Lead with technical direction in collaboration with other technology teams.
  • Identify portfolio technical risks, develop and manage risk management plans, and escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Contribute and enforce technical delivery standards and best practices across all projects and programmes.
  • Deliver technical portfolio activity in an effective and inspired manner, ensuring the programme & project team's delivery expectations are met.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in technical delivery management, preferably within the airline industry or a similar highly regulated environment.
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
  • ITIL qualification required.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) qualification.
  • Demonstrable experience in delivering large-scale technical projects within the airline or transportation industry.
  • Strong technical background with experience in modern software, API/event-based architectures, systems integration, and infrastructure management.
  • Strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate, inspire, and influence others.
