Job Introduction
We're seeking a skilled Vehicle Mechanic to join our team in Bristol. As a Vehicle Mechanic, you'll be responsible for maintaining our vehicle fleet with minimal downtime, ensuring our operations run efficiently and effectively.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage your workload, liaising with customers and ensuring routine maintenance of all vehicles, including heavy goods.
- Repair and maintain plant trailers and ancillary equipment.
- Arrange repairs and maintenance with contracted suppliers.
- Prepare and present vehicles for annual testing.
- Road test and diagnose vehicle faults.
- Order parts as required for the maintenance and repair of the Transport fleet.
Ideal Candidate
We're looking for a qualified and time-served Vehicle Technician with the appropriate NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent qualification. A full driving license is essential, and holding a valid LGV (Class C) driving license would be advantageous but is not essential as training can be provided.
Alongside excellent customer service skills, you'll have the ability to work well independently and as part of a team, maintaining high-quality standards and working within given timescales.
