Behaviour and Learning Support Assistant Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Behaviour and Learning Support Assistant to join our team in a local mainstream primary school. The successful candidate will work alongside a team to support pupils with challenging needs, providing tailored support to students facing emotional and behavioural challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to students with emotional and behavioural challenges.
  • Assist teachers in creating and delivering engaging lesson plans.
  • Implement and monitor individual support strategies for students.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals to promote student well-being.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant).
  • Experience working with children, especially those with special needs and behavioural needs.
  • Good communication skills for interacting with students and staff.
  • Ability to manage behaviour positively and effectively.
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.

To be eligible for the Behaviour and Learning Support Assistant role, candidates must:

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Present an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the past two years.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of safeguarding and child protection protocols.
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one with GSL Education.
