Structural Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join our team at a leading Consulting Engineering Practice. This is a permanent role that offers a competitive salary and opportunities for progression.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform structural analysis and design
  • Conduct structural assessments of existing structures
  • Manage and run structural design projects
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules
  • Carry out site visits, desktop investigations, and attend site meetings
  • Liaise with contractors, clients, and architects
  • Represent the company at design team and contractor/client meetings
  • Develop and implement technical solutions
  • Provide technical direction and mentoring to graduate engineers
Requirements:
  • Minimum BTEC HND in Engineering or Construction related discipline
  • Structural Engineering background
  • Project experience as a technician within an engineering practice
  • Ability to produce accurate and well-presented drawings or documents
  • Knowledge and experience of common building materials and details
  • Experience with 2D/3D draughting software using AutoCAD and REVIT
  • Knowledge of BIM co-ordination on projects
  • Ability to take ownership of own projects and coordinate works
  • Experience of reinforced concrete detailing
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
