Role Overview

  • This position focuses on providing electrical maintenance and repairs across various site infrastructures, including workshops, machine shops, testing facilities, and office areas.
  • Candidates should ideally possess an apprenticeship background, preferably with an HNC in Electrical Maintenance, and have at least two years of experience in electrical inspection, maintenance, and repair within a heavy industrial setting.
  • The successful candidate will work collaboratively within a team, adhering to safe working procedures and promoting recognized safety practices among peers.
  • Team members must demonstrate self-motivation and flexibility to handle diverse roles across multiple locations, with training provided to ensure safety in all tasks.
  • A methodical work approach, attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, decision-making skills, and effective communication are essential.

Essential Qualifications

Candidates should possess a working knowledge of:

  • Low Voltage networks, circuit breakers, and protection devices.
  • Electrical testing techniques and troubleshooting skills.
  • Current IET regulations.
  • Minor electrical installations and preparation of Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICR).
  • AC inverters and directly connected AC motors.
  • Allen Bradley PLCs and SCADA systems, including fault diagnosis using programming tools.
  • Good housekeeping practices and standards.
  • Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and related documentation.
  • Working confidently at heights.
  • A valid driving license is mandatory.

The role involves a 7-day work schedule, with hours from 7 AM to 3 PM on weekdays and 6 AM to 2 PM on weekends, including opportunities for occasional overtime with premium pay.
