Archivist

We are seeking an experienced Archivist to join our team on a fixed-term contract to assist in the preservation, management, and development of our extraordinary archive.

The successful candidate will have a post-graduate qualification in Archives and Records Management and demonstrable experience of working in archives, ideally special collections.

Key responsibilities include:

• Appraising and acquiring new material to enhance our collections
• Managing large collections, including working with external contractors and identifying conservation needs
• Cataloguing archives and objects to recognised standards and experience of cataloguing databases, ideally Adlib/Axiell Collections
• Delivering public engagement activities and social media content to promote archives and history

Interviews will be held in person at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden and will include a short tour of the archive.
