Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a Secondary School in Newcastle. This is a full-time, long-term position that offers a dynamic and supportive environment for students to thrive.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will provide dedicated learning support to students, building strong relationships and offering guidance to help them achieve their full potential. The ideal candidate will be able to maintain a well-organized and supportive environment, assisting with administrative tasks as needed, and foster student engagement and promote learning.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individualized learning support to students, adapting to their needs and abilities.
- Collaborate with the class teacher to develop and implement effective learning strategies.
- Assist with administrative tasks, such as maintaining student records and preparing materials.
- Support students in developing their numeracy and literacy skills, as well as promoting a growth mindset.
- Recent and relevant experience working with children or young people, ideally within an educational setting.
- Strong numeracy and literacy skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with students and staff.
- Compassion, empathy, and a genuine commitment to creating a supportive learning environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the class teacher and other support staff.
