Job Description

KPMG is seeking a highly skilled Principal Solution Architect to join our Enterprise-Wide Technology (EWT) team. As a key member of our technology leadership team, you will play a critical role in helping us deliver our business strategy through technology.

Role Purpose

The Solution Architect will work closely with technology delivery projects to translate business requirements into detailed solution architecture designs. You will ensure that solutions align with our technology and capability roadmaps, and that transformation projects deliver our business and technology strategies. You will also influence business and technology stakeholders to adopt strategic technology solutions, and guide technology projects through our Technology Assurance processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain expert knowledge of KPMG's technology ecosystem, including our main applications and technologies that support our capabilities.
  • Build conceptual and detailed solution architecture designs, ensuring alignment with our technology policies and standards.
  • Work closely with our Strategy & Architecture team, development teams, other architects, and 3rd party suppliers to deliver technology solutions.
  • Identify business/project risk and mitigate or communicate as necessary.
  • Ensure progress updates are communicated to relevant parties both formally and informally.
Requirements
  • Extensive Solution Architecture experience, with a proven track record of technically leading commercially successful software products.
  • Expert knowledge of at least one technology domain, including Application Architecture, Automation, Data Science & AI, Data, Integration, Infrastructure / Cloud, Security, and Dev-Sec-Ops.
  • Good knowledge of EA governance, including steps required, Info Sec approval, conceptual and solution architecture reviews, security assessments, pen tests, code reviews, and service acceptance criteria.
  • Good understanding of technical debt, including its causes, how to measure it, and remedial actions, including decommissioning.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience in a way that is relevant, easy to consume, and compelling.
