Project Design Engineer Job Description

GMP Recruitment Ltd is proud to partner with a leading organisation in the process plant and equipment industry. We are seeking an experienced Project Design Engineer to join their Kidderminster site.

Job Summary

This is a full-time, permanent position offering a salary up to £50,000 plus excellent company benefits and great career progression opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage and control orders received from customers, from supply only to turnkey contracts, ensuring efficient and safe project execution.
  2. Administer site project work areas, maintaining a controlled and efficient environment.
  3. Act on verbal or written instructions from the Operations department regarding order processing, labour allocation, and forward orders.
  4. Design and engineer contracts from customer inputs, ensuring details are prepared for satisfactory manufacture and installation.
  5. Conduct site visits to collect information, specifications, and measurements for project execution.
  6. Produce Method Statements and risk assessments for project-related activities.
  7. Utilise CAD software to design and produce information for manufacturing purposes.
  8. Assist in specifying the latest design technology to meet company design obligations.
  9. Implement contract management policies to achieve and exceed Gross Margin Profit targets.
  10. Adhere to and implement Quality procedures for process and on-site manufacture.
Requirements
  1. Proven project and technical experience, with a focus on design, industrial construction, or similar site engineering.
  2. Project design engineer experience in the industrial or construction industry is desired.
  3. Mechanical understanding and solid manufacturing industry knowledge, with the ability to communicate effectively with staff and customers.
