Job Description

Role Overview

The Girls Academy Coach will be responsible for coaching an age group within the Girls Youth Academy and implementing the delivery of the Redprint coaching programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality technical sessions and practices.
  • Contribute to the Individual Development Plan (IDP) process with detailed objective and subjective feedback.
  • Plan and prepare for each match, with particular emphasis on the needs of individual players.
  • Adhere to the Manchester United development and coaching 'Redprint' philosophy.
  • Engage fully in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) events organised internally and externally.
  • Support player welfare and uphold the standards of sportsmanship, behaviour, and playing style expected at Manchester United.
  • Contribute to a positive working environment and ensure compliance with the company's safeguarding policy.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A strong desire to make a positive difference to young people.
  • Hard work, enthusiasm, and dependability.
  • Excellent people skills, including self-assurance, rapport-building, empathy, emotional intelligence, and approachability.
  • Understanding of safeguarding best practice.
  • Knowledge of implementing policies and procedures, particularly health and safety and risk assessments.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Knowledge of the Women and Girls game.
  • Coaching philosophies and practices.
  • Principles of Play.
  • Experience working in academy football (girls or boys).
  • Coaching and mentoring young players.

Required Qualifications

  • Coaching Award (minimum level 2/UEFA C Licence).
  • Emergency First Aid in Football qualification.
  • Valid Safeguarding Children certificate.
  • FA Youth Modules (desirable).
