Job Summary:

The Recruitment Co. is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Maintenance Specialist to join our team at our Barnsley plant. As a Mechanical Fitter, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform reactive mechanical maintenance and Pre Planned Maintenance on all machinery by diagnosing breakdown problems.
  • Work with specialist manufacturing equipment, including modern programmable logic-controlled machinery.
  • Work with Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems.
  • Occasionally perform welding and fabrication tasks.
  • Control maintenance spares, tools, stock, and equipment using the booking out system.

Requirements:

  • NVQ level 3 in engineering approved apprenticeship.
  • Experience in similar mechanical maintenance roles.
  • Good team worker capable of working alone.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Health and safety awareness.

What We Offer:

  • Basic salary and shift premium approximately £40,000 OTE £48,000.
  • Working 12-hour shifts, 4 on 4 off in the pattern - days/nights.
  • Enhanced basic pay and shift rates for working Saturdays (x1.5), Sundays (x2), and Public holidays (x2).
  • 24 days holidays per year including statutory holidays.
  • Overtime regularly available at enhanced rates.
  • Production bonus paid weekly subject to production targets being met.
  • Various employee benefits, including Life Assurance, employer-paid pension, and more upon successful completion of probation.
