Job Overview

We are seeking a qualified individual who has successfully completed a recognized apprenticeship in electrical craftsmanship and possesses a strong proficiency in managing both electrical and mechanical systems.

Essential experience includes electrical upkeep, fire alarm systems, and inspections of electrical installations. A solid understanding of the Electricity at Work Regulations and the IEE Wiring Regulations is crucial. Familiarity with Standby Generators, HVAC systems, Nurse Call technology, and Switchgear is considered advantageous.

The selected candidate will be contractually required to engage in the on-call system for the Hospitals, should the need arise, along with generator testing across multiple sites.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential Qualifications

  • City and Guilds NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Maintenance / Installation or equivalent
  • 17th/18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations

  • HV Qualification

Knowledge and Skills

Essential Knowledge

  • Understanding of single and three-phase electrical systems
  • Knowledge of LV electrical distribution systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manufacturer literature, and specifications

Desirable Knowledge

  • Experience in a healthcare environment
  • Familiarity with emergency generators, UPS, and fire alarm systems
  • Knowledge of HV electrical distribution systems
  • Mechanical experience
