About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced clinical leader to establish and lead the National Strategic Clinical Network (NSCN) for Gastrointestinal Conditions. This is an exciting opportunity to work as a senior leader across the newly formed NHS Executive and provide clinical leadership, advice, and support to the NHS Executive leadership team and Welsh Government.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and advice to the NHS Executive leadership team and Welsh Government.
  • Promote a clear vision for relevant clinical services in Wales, working with clinical colleagues and representative bodies to develop a clinical consensus.
  • Seek areas of good practice around Wales, the UK, and beyond to improve services and outcomes.
  • Contribute to and lead national workshops and events.

The NHS Executive works in partnership for and on behalf of Welsh Government, in and with the NHS in Wales, and is hosted by Public Health Wales. Requirements
  • Full appropriate professional registration.
  • An in-depth knowledge and understanding of national guidance and best practice.
  • Good understanding of the principles of clinical governance.
  • High level of understanding of Value Based Health/Prudent Healthcare principles.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Postgraduate qualification in medical/clinical education.
  • Leading and delivering significant clinical changes.
  • Working with key stakeholders, NHS Wales, Welsh Government.
  • Presenting at national and international conferences.
  • Research experience.
  • Experience as a clinical tutor or lecturer at post-graduate level.
