Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Planner Analyst to join our team. As a Cost Planner Analyst, you will be responsible for reviewing engineering drawings and estimating the cost of jobs, as well as planning and executing projects from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Interpret Customer Requirements: Interpret customer engineering drawings and specifications to ensure accurate cost estimation and project planning.
  2. Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate costs for materials, labor, and services using our ERP system to prepare customer quotations.
  3. Technical Support: Respond to technical queries raised by customers and suppliers, providing expert advice and guidance.
  4. Estimate Generation: Generate estimates for bought-out items, engineering costs, and other project-related expenses.
  5. Supplier Management: Seek out new suppliers and sub-contractors to achieve the best 'value for money' and 'competitive lead times'.
  6. Manufacturing Planning: Provide detailed manufacturing steps, including tooling, bills of material, and process routings.
  7. Purchasing Support: Cover purchasing duties during busy periods, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and services.
  8. Business Development: Work with managers and supervisors to implement the company's policies and business objectives, driving growth and profitability.
  9. Additional Responsibilities: Carry out any other duties reasonable and within capability, supporting the team and contributing to the company's success.
Requirements:
  • Commercial Engineering Experience: Commercial engineering experience required, preferably in the Aerospace Industry.
  • Effective Communication: Effective oral and written communication skills required.
  • CNC Experience: CNC experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Teamwork and Initiative: Ability to work under own initiative, as part of a team, and with flexibility, courtesy, and a positive approach.
  • Discretion and Confidentiality: Discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism at all times.
  • Eligibility: Eligible to work in the UK.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Team Experience: Must have worked as part of a team.
  • Deadline Management: Experience of working to deadlines.
  • Engineering Qualification: Recognised engineering trade qualification required.
  • ERP System Experience: Experience of using an ERP system an advantage.
  • Purchasing Experience: Purchasing experience also an advantage.
