Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Commercial Transition Specialist to join our team at Veolia. As a key member of our commercial team, you will play a critical role in driving business growth and improving operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and management of contract business improvement initiatives, including the identification of target projects and the implementation of innovative technologies to enhance existing and new business.
  • Support the Business Development team during tenders and the Mobilisation Manager/Operations Manager in mobilising and demobilising industrial contracts.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of innovation and business improvement strategies for our waste water and energy UK accounts.
  • Support projects to achieve budgeted sales growth in revenue and integrated operating margin on sector accounts, working closely with Sector Managers to develop and improve the integrated profitability and effectiveness of the sector contract portfolio.
  • Support the Commercial & Transition Manager in working closely with Sector General Managers to plan and develop continuous improvement strategies for customers, Situation Target Proposals or change requests, implementation schedules/plans, and detailed improvement proposals.
  • Promote operational excellence in the eyes of customers and the principles of added value through the application of lean six sigma management techniques and best practice.
  • Ensure safe systems of work are provided for all Veolia clients, employees, and third parties for all improvement projects on sector contracts.
  • Support the development of contract bespoke commercial and operational procedures when required.
  • Support the development of formal working processes with Veolia procurement to lead pre-qualification, market testing, and subcontracting of activities.
  • Support the development of bespoke contract management tools for monitoring and reporting performance and innovation, working with the Commercial & Transition Manager and procurement to write third-party subcontracts and commercially negotiate with third parties.

Requirements:

  • GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English or equivalent.
  • A good record of internal and external relationship building and experience in managing performance against targets.
  • Experience of customer contact and relationships at all levels.
  • Analytical and good eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Commitment and drive to improve standards.
  • Good project management skills.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Developing leadership skills.
  • Driving Licence essential.

Desirable:

  • Experience of working in a contracting environment within an industrial water/energy/waste setting.
  • Degree qualified/Chartered Management Institute Qualification (CMI).
  • APM Project Management Qualification.
  • Autonomous project management experience.
