Project Engineer for Inspection Assistance
Location: Aberdeen
Bilfinger UK stands as a premier engineering and maintenance service provider, catering to clients across various sectors including chemical & petrochemical, nuclear, oil & gas, pharmaceuticals & biopharma, power & energy, utilities, renewables, and food & beverage. Our mission is to enhance asset efficiency, ensuring optimal availability while minimizing maintenance expenditures.
Recently, we initiated a joint venture, Torus BGP, in collaboration with Global E&C, aimed at delivering a comprehensive suite of integrated services for CNRI's North Sea assets. Our unified operational philosophy allows us to offer a wide array of services such as Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Construction, Lifting, Inspection, Access, Deck Management, and Fabric Maintenance. This position falls under our Operations & Maintenance service line.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the update of operational schedules.
- Oversee activities of subcontractors and third parties for required tasks.
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of presentation materials.
- Coordinate with the Bilfinger ANDT Team for new work scopes, including equipment identification.
- Provide assistance to the Inspection Project Manager, Project Planner, and Engineer as needed.
- Cover for the Project Planner and Project Engineer when necessary.
- Help in the collection and presentation of planning data, including updates to planning software.
- Compile equipment orders for new scopes of work.
- Manage plant, material, and equipment orders, including maintaining material trackers and monitoring shipping activities.
- Review plant maintenance reports to ensure alignment with actual offshore data.
- Communicate with stores and shipping departments to guarantee timely equipment issuance.
- Ensure customer purchase orders are secured prior to the commencement of work.
- Review and approve weekly working hours, ensuring accuracy in hours and coding in accordance with contractual obligations.
- Verify invoicing data for labor and plant before submission to clients, assisting with any queries as necessary.
- Monitor purchase order costs to prevent overruns, submitting amended CTRs as required.
- Assist in preparing financial forecasts.
- Ensure timely receipt of equipment checks, inspection reports, HSE reports, and all relevant documentation from offshore.
- Address PAYE wage inquiries.
- Approve employee expense claims.
- Manage and approve offshore holiday requests.
Experience & Qualifications
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in an offshore oil and gas environment.
• At least 2 years of experience related to in-service inspection is preferred.
• A working knowledge of British, European, and International Standards pertaining to Safety, Environment, and Quality is desirable.
• Proficient understanding of SAP or similar systems.
