West Riding Recruitment LTD is seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our plant and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failure and minimize downtime.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on mechanical systems, including pumps, valves, and associated equipment.
- Assist in the implementation of planned preventative maintenance programs.
- Collaborate with other maintenance technicians to complete tasks and ensure resources are allocated efficiently.
- Provide daily shift reports and assist in maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
- Apprentice-trained or equivalent experience in mechanical maintenance.
- Good all-round skills, including fitting, turning, milling, and welding.
- Knowledge of overhead traversing gantry cranes, compressors, refrigeration plant, low-pressure air blowers, gas-fired combustion equipment, forklift trucks, pumps, valves, and associated systems.
- Electrical knowledge and experience of electro-chemical process plant is an advantage.
- Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem-solving attitude and ability to work independently.
- 18th Edition certification (but not essential).
- Able to ARC/MMA welding.
- Multiskilled engineer in a manufacturing or production environment.
- An hourly pay rate of up to £18.00 based on experience.
- A flexible approach to working hours and duties due to the 24-hour operation of the plant/process-line.
