Sustainability Director

Job Summary
Sir Robert McAlpine is seeking a highly skilled Sustainability Director to join our team and support us in achieving our sustainability ambitions. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in managing the delivery of our sustainability strategy and client requirements on projects within the London Region.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement our Environmental Management System (EMS) on projects from tender stage, working closely with the Regional Sustainability Manager.
- Ensure that procurement documentation reflects the project sustainability requirements.
- Conduct regular site surveillances and audits to ensure compliance with legislation and project sustainability requirements.
- Manage projects to reduce carbon emissions and waste, and ensure that goods and services are ethically procured.
- Ensure each project understands their Client's sustainability requirements, including delivery of environmental assessments.
- Report project performance against Build Sure and client requirements in line with our company reporting requirements.
- Review project performance, identify areas of improvement, and implement corrective actions.
- Identify and communicate best practice across the business unit.
- Deliver training on environmental management and sustainability for project staff and supply chain.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Experience in a construction environmental/sustainability role.
- Technical expertise in reviewing, advising, and managing delivery of improved sustainability performance and environmental assessments.
- Proven ability to manage delivery of company and client sustainability requirements from pre-construction to practical completion.
