About the Role

NJR Recruitment is delighted to be working with a leading multi-channel retailer to find a talented Buying Assistant / Assistant Buyer to join their buying team in South Manchester.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with suppliers, buying, merchandising, and quality control teams to drive sales, stock, and margin targets.
  • Collaborate with the creative and ecommerce teams to ensure productive relationships and successful product development.
  • Assist the buyer in adapting styles relevant to the ladieswear area, ensuring the best price and quality.
  • Lead critical path meetings, presenting to the buyer and buying manager, and proactively highlighting potential issues.
  • Support the buyer in product development and price negotiation, and develop a range with the buyer to attract the target customer.
  • Analyze sales and performance data to enable trade reactions and implement changes where necessary.
  • Perform day-to-day administration tasks to assist the buyer and ensure efficient buying of product.
  • Stay commercially aware of competitors' seasonal product and price changes.
  • Organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and ensure the smooth operation of the buying team.

Requirements

  • Experience in a buying function, preferably in fashion.
  • Natural ability to identify future fashion trends and a passion for product.
  • In-depth knowledge of the current market and ability to analyze sales and performance data.
