About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Estimator to join our dynamic team at Hays Engineering. As a Technical Sales/Electrical Estimator, you will play a crucial role in identifying new business opportunities and providing solutions to meet the needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify new business opportunities with clients across various industries, including Sand & Quarry, Recycling, Food, Renewables, Animal Feeds, Refrigeration, and Water & Waste Water.
  • Liaise with clients to understand their requirements, budget, and expectations, providing tailored solutions to meet their needs.
  • Work with clients to understand specifications, electrical schematics, block cable diagrams, and BOMs, ensuring compliance with regulations and industry standards.
  • Provide accurate costings for clients and work closely with suppliers to achieve the best possible costings from the outset.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and colleagues to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions, striving for continuous improvements in quality and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as design, production, site installation, and technical support, to ensure projects are delivered to a high standard.
Requirements
  • Minimum of an HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • At least three years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the electrical engineering industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and colleagues.
  • Strong background in Industrial Electrical Installation and Electrical Control Systems, with a good understanding of electrical specifications, schematics, drawings, block cable diagrams, and BOMs.
  • Experience with a range of PLCs, HMIs, and Variable Speed Drives, as well as a good understanding of electrical standards.
  • Ability to complete tender submissions and PQQs, with high attention to detail and strong business acumen.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to self-manage and prioritize to meet deadlines.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to develop and learn new skills with on and off the job training.
