Role Responsibilities
This pivotal position will involve overseeing the finance division across both operational sites. You will report directly to the Finance Director and be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of management accounting for the group entities. Your leadership will extend to a team of eight professionals managing various accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and preparation of financial statements up to trial balance.
The management accounts you generate will be crucial for the executive team, providing insights through comprehensive reports that include profit and loss statements, cost center analyses, year-over-year variances, and statistical business evaluations. Daily operations will require proficiency in Sage 200 and Excel, along with specialized systems utilized in operational processes. Throughout the month, you will collaborate closely with the Finance Director to identify potential commercial risks and opportunities, continuously seeking to enhance and refine operational processes. This role offers a broad scope of responsibilities and opportunities for professional growth.
Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this role, you should possess a recognized finance qualification (CIMA/ACA/ACCA) and have substantial experience in management accounting within a small to medium-sized enterprise, particularly in a family-run context. This is a hands-on position, requiring a proactive approach to engage with all facets of the business and manage the finance team effectively. While the accounts team is highly skilled, prior experience in team leadership is essential for achieving success in this role. The position will primarily be based at the Guildford site, with occasional travel to the Farnham location, necessitating local residency and reliable transportation. A positive mindset and a proactive attitude towards driving change for business advancement are crucial.
