We are currently seeking a seasoned Project Manager with a robust background in civil engineering to enhance our team. This is an exceptional opportunity to lead high-value projects within a thriving organization.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a pivotal member of our team, you will oversee and guide a diverse group of professionals, including Agents, Engineers, Works Managers, General Foremen, Technicians, and Operatives. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring outstanding customer service and managing client expectations effectively.
  • Driving project delivery while upholding the highest standards of Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality practices.
  • Maintaining compliance with our Management Systems and ensuring that necessary plans, such as Construction Phase Health & Safety, Environmental Management Plans, and Quality Plans, are current and effective.
  • Playing a key role in Cost Value reporting and forecasting in collaboration with the commercial team.
  • Administering projects in accordance with contractual obligations.
  • Supporting all activities with appropriate plans and Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Overseeing waste management, lifting, and temporary works to ensure compliance with legislation and company protocols.
  • Conducting weekly site reports and project programming.
  • Encouraging a culture focused on meeting customer and stakeholder needs.
  • Promoting innovation and value engineering throughout project execution.

Qualifications and Experience

We invite you to apply if you possess:

  • Significant experience in managing civil engineering projects, particularly in areas such as highways, utilities, earthworks, and structures.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the Principal Contractor role, CDM regulations, Temporary Works, Confined Spaces, and Lifting Operations.
  • Experience with various NEC3/4 contract conditions or similar frameworks.
  • Proficiency in managing profit and loss (P&L) statements, along with advanced communication skills and strong expertise in MS Office.
  • A valid UK driving licence, a Civil Engineering qualification, and relevant certifications such as SMSTS/CSCS or equivalent (e.g., NEBOSH).
  • Over a decade of experience in civil engineering across multiple disciplines, showcasing leadership, programming capabilities, and a proactive approach.
  • A track record of building strong relationships, effectively managing teams, and consistently meeting client expectations, with a strong commitment to Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) and cost management.
