Role Overview:

Quest Employment is seeking candidates for the position of Flexible Forklift Operator on a temporary basis in Orton Southgate, Peterborough. Ideal candidates will demonstrate flexibility, reliability, and readiness for immediate engagement. Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, is essential. As a Forklift Operator, your responsibilities may include various tasks such as packing, sorting, picking, dispatching, labeling, boxing, and palletizing.

The client is a prominent manufacturer and distributor in the breakfast cereal sector, operating from a newly established facility in Orton Southgate, Peterborough. Shifts are scheduled from 06:00 to 18:00 and 18:00 to 06:00, following a Panama shift pattern. The site functions around the clock, with the majority of work scheduled during weekdays.

Salary Breakdown:

  • Base Rate: £12.00 per hour
  • Day Shift Allowance: £0.68 = £12.68 per hour
  • Night Shift Allowance: £2.48 = £14.48 per hour
  • Overtime Rate (beyond 48 hours): £18.00 per hour
  • Shift allowances apply only to base hours

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Operating Forklift
  • Loading and unloading trucks and containers
  • Packing, verifying, and labeling cereal products
  • Maintaining cleanliness in the warehouse and yard
  • Adhering to health and safety regulations
  • Meeting daily productivity goals

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid Flexi/Bendi license (from RTITB or ITSSAR)
  • Ability to lift, bend, reach overhead, crouch, and stretch
  • Capable of pushing and pulling weights up to 15kg
  • Manual dexterity in both hands
  • Experience in a warehouse or production setting is preferred but not mandatory
  • Teamwork skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
