Job Description:

Deputy Nursery Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Nursery Manager to join our team at Nursery People, a specialist nursery recruitment agency dedicated to connecting talented early years professionals with leading childcare companies and settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Nursery Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the nursery, ensuring the highest standards of care and education are maintained.
  • Ensure that the nursery provides a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for all children, aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Lead and inspire a team of nursery practitioners, providing guidance and support as needed to promote a culture of excellence in early childhood education.
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate activities and curriculum in line with the EYFS framework, fostering a love of learning in children.
  • Maintain positive relationships with parents and carers, addressing any concerns promptly and professionally to ensure a collaborative approach to childcare.
  • Ensure all policies and procedures, including safeguarding and health and safety, are followed meticulously to guarantee a secure environment for children and staff.
  • Participate in staff training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge, staying up-to-date with best practices in early years education.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent, demonstrating a strong foundation in early childhood education.
  • Previous experience in a nursery setting, with leadership or supervisory experience, showcasing ability to manage and motivate teams.
  • Thorough understanding of the EYFS framework and child development principles, ensuring a deep commitment to delivering high-quality care and education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, parents, and carers.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a proven track record of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • SENCO qualification preferred, but not essential, as we are committed to supporting the development of our staff.
